Shiva Lingam is durable crypto-crystalline Quartz tainted with impurities that give it a very uncommon appearance. It has iron oxide deposits within it, believed to come from a meteor that embedded into the river many many years ago. It has a mixture of Agate, Basalt, and Jasper. It is mostly grey or pale brown with brown-red patches, stripes, or rings throughout. No two Shiva Lingam are the same, they are all unique. They all have a natural egg shape formed by tumbling in the Narmada River, where it is gathered and hand polished by villagers. The Narmada River is part of the seven holy sites of India, and part of the five holy rivers, located in Onkar Mandhata (in western India).
